"root" is Mauro (AKA kAt!)'s first EP. He plays all the instruments except for "El Despuntar", where Adri Lope puts his voice. They are four tracks in principle something different that actually show how the undertronica developed in the artistic youth collective kAt has evolved! from its beginnings in autumn 2012 with the first rehearsals of the youth band pJP. Mauro came later and wanted to collect all these tracks but played by him. We recorded them, mixed them and mastered them, and we've put them together in this EP.

In "Alone" it sounds like how a fourteen-year-old boy feels alone in his room playing the piano.

"kAt! presents" was composed as the soundtrack of the collective's promo. kAt! He has reperformed it and I have produced it again.

"root" gives title to the EP, I started composing just a few days ago. Mauro liked it so much that he wanted to play it. In the process we saw it including it and giving title to the EP. We recorded it and here it is. It represents in the form of sounds what kAt! It is: undertronica.

"El Despuntar" was born from the improvisation of a boy of barely twelve years old on a song composed by me more than twenty years ago. It was built little by little and was published at the time as streaming. Now, kAt! he has reperformed it and closes this EP.


"root" es el primer EP de Mauro, AKA kAt! Él toca todos los instrumentos a excepción de "El Despuntar", donde pone su voz Adri Lope. Son cuatro pistas en principio algo dispares que en realidad muestran cómo ha evolucionado la undertronica desarrollada en el colectivo juvenil artístico kAt! desde sus inicios en otoño de 2012 con los primeros ensayos de la banda juvenil pJP. Mauro vino después y ha querido reunir todas estas pistas pero tocadas por él. Las grabamos, las mezclé y mastericé, y las hemos reunido en este EP.

En "Alone" suena cómo se siente un chico de catorce años encerrado solo en su habitación tocando el piano.

"kAt! presents" se compuso como banda sonora de la promo del colectivo. kAt! la ha reinterpretado y la he vuelto a producir.

"root" da título al EP, La empecé a componer hace sólo unos días. A Mauro le fue gustando tanto que quiso tocarla. En el proceso la vimos incluyéndola y dando título al EP. La grabamos y aquí está. Representa en forma de sonidos lo que kAt! es: undertronica.

"El Despuntar" nació de la improvisación de un chico de apenas doce años sobre un tema compuesto por mí hace ya más de veinte años. Se fue construyendo poco a poco y se publicó en su momento como streaming. Ahora, kAt! la ha re-interpretado y cierra este EP.
